Kehinde Wiley draws inspiration from Art History and reflects contemporary culture. Anthony van Dyck painted the original of King Charles I in 1635. How are these paintings the same? How are they different?

Kehinde's art is interesting becuase of how he makes them similar to original art from the past. This painting is similar to the original from the same poses to the same tree to even the same horse, but is also different by having modern people and clothing along with added features to the background and frame around the painting.

I like Kehinde's painting because even though they are well painted and they look actually really pretty, they're funny, as well.

I really love Kehinde’s interpretations in the classic paintings and making them into modern art and changing the theme in a very clean way.

I like Kehinde's art because he takes old paintings and replaces it with different people from his community and incorporates his own personal style (with bright colors and different clothing) while still keeping the classical poses of the models. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
